  JW.org videos....look like....

  .... i just looked through some videos on the scientology and the mormon youtube channels.animated whiteboard animations, bad acting, compelling music...it's all the same as jw.org...or the other way around.the similarity is very striking to me.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghjomvjadbghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxf3pwvjoka.

  I remember when I found out ttatt in 2004, I wanted to convince myself I was wrong, I mean, JWs were the only one that didn't go to war, and preached, and used the name of Jehovah...then I found websites that really shocked me...not only there are more religions or groups that do all of these things, but they also have magazines that look exactly like Awake and Watchtower.

  It was really an eye-opener for me. JW ar NOT unique. The shunning, the no smoking, it's all there.

  And when they are not, there is no logic in being chosen by god above all other religions. Or, if they are not unique, there is no PROOF of being chosen by god.

  How to shake up Jdubs...

  i didn't attend the meeting last night, but my in husband came home and was quite shocked because there was a letter announcing that there will be no wt-library cd-rom any more, and..... no more calendar.. he said there was a lot of talking and noise when that was announced.. i didn't expect the calender to go, by the way.

  and my husband sounded really concerned, talking about how society is cutting down.

  i love it when he says with a tone of surprise in his voice: 'you were right, now they want us to do everyting digital, and throw out the printed stuff.

  i just saw a video on fb, posted by a jw, which shows a bunch of kids singing to some recorded orchestral backup.

  it was recorded last saturday, or sunday.,.

  it almost looks like the kind of sunday school sing-a-long that you'd find at a 'normal' church.

  Before the talk from the Helper (forgot his name) a few weeks ago in the Netherlands, there was an interview regarding the choir, also the children's choir. And then the children's choir sang one of the kingdom songs. (Normal choir did sing a song as well. ) It was streamed in the whole country. Recorded in a convention Hall.

  Going to meetings to "save face."

  going to make this short and sweet but i need some advise again and i kinda need to vent a bit so sorry.😢.

  so it has been weeks since the wife and i have been to meetings.

  it has been nothing short of wonderful!!!

  This all sounds so familiar. I am like Hadriel, i go to meetings, and use opportunities. And I know they are afraid of me. They know I will not be quiet if they ever would annoy me. Last year october an elder asked (for the first time in years) if i would like to have a conversation. Like a shepherd call (I have declined shepherd calls to our family for ten years now! it's my house, too, so I have the right not to have elders over!) but only HIM.

  I asked him if he was sure he really wanted to talk to me.

  He was surprised and asked why, and that he would like to hear my side of the story. I said: 'You don't want to make things worse for DH, don't you?' (I mean, now I am going to meetings and my husband has a 'normal' life, how would things work out for him when they have to df me?!)

  'are you afraid of me?' He asked , and i said, 'no, but i know that you could be forced to do something with things you hear. That's how the rules are.'

  That was in october. He never talked about a visit again 😊

  Everyone has his/her own way to cope. I am not a black and white person, I can live with being in the KH sometimes (however it's getting harder!). if you can't, quit.

  i am just curious who on this board is in the same situation has i am?

  a spouse that is fully brain doogled in and you are awake to ttatt.. without going into serious detail and no names are given.

  i would like to possible talk with one of you all, it's just so helpful to communicate with someone in the same situation as me.. i am located in the southwest united states..

  a current jw told me there was going to be a special talk (tm) from the governing body(r) next month.

  apart from the usual hilarious jw tv stuff, i haven't heard of anything.. any info any one?

  In the Netherlands we had a special talk from a Helper (Kenneth Flodin) last sunday. It was streamed to all congregations. No special info. Some jokes. A bad translator. (Said 'Jehovah' instead of 'satan' in the final prayer to do a last attack 😳)

  We had an announcement before the video that every three months 'local needs' will be a video about donations and what the Borg is doing with all the money.

  I went for the same reason I attend the meetings: out of respect for my husband. However, I very much dislike memorial evening. It's like alle crap packed together in one stupid puppetshow. Crap: Jesus only mediator for 144000. Paradise on earth (where does the bible speak of this?) 144.000. Annointed. FDS. Partakers Numbers going up and they still believe their own prophecies.

  Attending was down, I think. 74. (Some years we had 110!). The brother who did the talk said: nobody here is going to partake, we all have a hope for paradise. HOW WOULD HE KNOW?
